About Scripps National Spelling Bee
The Scripps National Spelling Bee is an annual spelling bee that takes place in the United States of America. It is run by The E.W. Scripps Company on a not-for-profit basis. It is held in Washington, D.C. It was formed in 1925. The national competition consists of preliminaries and 7 rounds (including oral rounds). To qualify for The Scripps National Spelling Bee, a speller must win a regional competition. Enrollment is required. A per-school fee must be paid. To participate in the national competition, a speller should be sponsored. The Scripps has more than 200 sponsors from the United Stats, Canada, New Zealand, The Bahamas, and Asia.
